«IrEX-1, The Black Corpse of the Sun», 2017

«IrEX» is the abbreviation for «Irrational Exuberance». The term was coined by economist Alan Greenspan in reference to the frenzy of greed which is seen from time to time on the stock market. The performance is a live act in which the artist and her co performers discuss global trade in crude oil via an internet platform. Using the fluctuations of oil prices as a stimulus, the performers create spontaneous spatial improvisations. Their aim is to reveal the stock exchange as an opaque process while addressing its unpredictability in a precarious global context.
