Death is at the centre of Lilian Frei’s performance Memento Mori – a celebratory and pleasurable experience. She invites participants to exchange their thoughts on death over a festive meal: “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we are dead!” Lilian Frei starts and moderates the conversations, thereby drawing on the tradition of the funeral repast, a communal meal following a funeral that commemorates the deceased and celebrates life.

The hour-long event does not have an audience, only participants, whose number is limited to forty.
