MISSION STATEMENT

The Swiss Performance Art Award contributes to the visibility of Swiss performance art, shows its diversity and quality and reinforces its recognition. The national competition is open to artists and collectives associated with performance art by educational background, creative method, or presentational practice. The Swiss Performance Art Award is a common initiative by the Cantons of Aargau, Basel-City, Basel-Country, Lucerne, St Gall, Zurich and the City of Geneva.

NON-DISCRIMINATION STATEMENT

The Swiss Performance Art Award provides a space for people of different backgrounds, interests and convictions. The responsible municipal and cantonal cultural institutions stand for a culture of mutual respect and aim to create an atmosphere of acceptance. We currently are in the middle of an ongoing institutional learning process for which we consciously engage with questions dealing with discrimination and take suggestions and criticism seriously. We reflect on mechanisms of exclusion and oppose all forms of discrimination.
